Size guide
Sizing a BJJ gi from a chart is guesswork — an A2 in one brand is an A2L in another. If you can get to Paphos, come and try it on at the academy. If you can’t, the chart below and the full PDF will get you there.
Gi sizes we stock
| Adult / unisex | A0 · A1 · A1L · A2 · A2L · A3 · A3S · A4 · A5 |
|---|---|
| Women’s cut | F0 · F1 · F1L · F2 · F2L · F3 · F3L · F4 · F5 |
| Kids | M000 · M00 · M0 · M1 · M2 · M3 · M4 · M5 |
What the letters mean. A is the standard adult cut. An L suffix (A1L, A2L) is the same chest with a longer body and sleeves — for taller builds. An S suffix (A3S) is shorter for the same chest. F sizes are cut for women rather than being a smaller men’s gi. M sizes are children’s.
If you are between two sizes and competing under IBJJF rules, size down — a gi that is too long in the sleeve fails the measurement at check-in.
Rashguards, shorts and spats
| Rashguards & spats | XS · S · M · L · XL · 2XL · 3XL · 4XL |
|---|---|
| Kids rashguards | K XS · K S · K M · K L · K XL |
| Belts (adult) | A0 – A5 |
| Belts (kids) | XS · S · M · L · XL |
Rashguards are a compression layer and should fit snug — loose fabric rolls and rubs. If you prefer a looser fit for no-gi, size up one.
Washing and shrinkage
Our kimonos are pre-shrunk, so shrinkage is minimal. Wash cold and hang to dry and it will keep its size and its artwork. Hot washes and tumble dryers are what shrink a gi and fade a print.
Still not sure?
Email info@kanokimonos.store with your height and weight and we’ll tell you what we’d put you in — or come to the academy and try it. If a size doesn’t work out, you have 14 days to exchange it.
